Crosas spurred on by criticism

Tony Mowbray's side could crash out of the Europa League on Wednesday night when Group C leaders Hapoel Tel Aviv to Celtic Park.[LNB]The Glasgow side, who were knocked out in the qualifying stages of the Champions League by Arsenal, need to beat the Israeli club and win at Rapid Vienna later in the month, while hoping second-placed Hamburg lose both their remaining games.[LNB]Mowbray's team have been similarly troubled domestically, crashing out of the Co-operative Insurance Cup to Hearts although, somewhat ironically, moving back to the SPL summit with Saturday's 3-1 home win over St Mirren.[LNB]While recent and at times relentless criticism from the fans and media has irked Mowbray, Crosas was less defensive.[LNB]"The criticism is normal," the Spaniard said.[LNB]"It is good for us as well because we need to improve every day.[LNB]"Everybody knows we need to be better.[LNB]"In terms of the league, we are top and that is all that really matters.[LNB]"We have played some good football this season and the first game against Aberdeen at Pittodrie was brilliant.[LNB]"But now we are thinking about the Europa League and we have a difficult game tonight.[LNB]"It was good for the fans to see us win at home against St Mirren on Saturday.[LNB]"Now we are top of the league again and we need to improve every day and try and keep that position."[LNB]Crosas refuses to give up hope of Celtic qualifying through their Europa League section despite the Hoops facing a seemingly impossible task.[LNB]Mowbray admitted that qualification would be an unexpected bonus but his midfielder was more upbeat.[LNB]"I think we still have a chance," he said.[LNB]"The table also says that we still have a chance and so we need to do our job, win our games and then we will see.[LNB]"I think the team is confident of getting our first win in the group.[LNB]"When you play in Europe it is at a higher level and it is the small things that make the difference.[LNB]"Maybe we didn't score with the chances that we had in games and that's why (we are at the bottom).[LNB]"But I think we done well in all the matches, even in the first game away to Hapoel where we lost 2-1.[LNB]"We had the chances to finish the game at 1-0 and if we had scored the second goal or the game had finished like that, I'm sure the campaign would have been different."[LNB][LNB] Celtic 8/11, Draw 12/5, Hapoel Tel Aviv 10/3
