Commons still confident of title shot

Celtic winger Kris Commons remains confident of winning the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, but only if lessons are learned from the Co-operative Insurance Cup final defeat by Rangers at Hampden. Nikica Jelavic's extra-time winner gave the Light Blues a dramatic victory after Steve Davis's first-half opener had been levelled by Joe Ledley levelled on the half-hour mark. The defeat ended hopes of a Celtic treble and afterwards Commons said: "In the back of our mind we wanted a clean sheet and we thought we had the squad to do that. "We have let down ourselves, the fans, the coaching staff and especially Neil (Lennon). "There was six or seven lads who didn't turn up and I don't think we did enough to win the game or lose it. "There were some okay performances, a few of us didn't play to our abilities and we switched off certainly for the second goal. In the build-up we felt confident and sharp but there was no evidence of that."
