Celtic clash possible for Dunfermline

Dunfermline could face Celtic in the fifth round of the Active Nation Scottish Cup if they are allowed to stay in the competition after fielding an ineligible player.

Calum Woods came off the bench in the second half of the 7-1 fourth-round victory over Stenhousemuir at East End Park, despite the Scottish Football Association's official suspensions list declaring him banned for the match.

A decision is expected early in the week. Jim McIntyre's men were first out of the hat in the draw for the last 16 but postponements due to weather conditions over the weekend means no ties have been finalised.

Celtic will face Dunfermline if they defeat Morton, while St Mirren face the winners of the replay between Hamilton and Rangers following a thrilling 3-3 draw at New Douglas Park.

Former Rangers midfielder Neil McCann, a pundit for Sky Sports, said: "There are a couple of possible all-Premier League clashes and the one that pops out is St Mirren against Hamilton or Rangers.

"The smaller teams have a chance of progressing and you're hoping that one of those ties provide the entertainment we saw at New Douglas Park."

:: Scottish Cup fifth-round draw: Dunfermline v Morton or Celtic, Hibernian v Edinburgh City or Montrose, Forfar or St Johnstone v Dundee Utd, Livingston or Dundee v Ayr Utd or Brechin, Raith Rovers or Airdrie Utd v Aberdeen, Kilmarnock or Falkirk v Inverness or Motherwell, St Mirren v Rangers or Hamilton, Ross County or Inverurie Locos v Albion Rovers or Stirling Albion.
