Celtic signed Morocco defender Badr El-Kaddouri on loan from Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday as cover for the injured Emilio Izaguirre.
El-Kaddouri, 30, has joined Celtic until January but the Scottish club also have the option for a permanent deal in the New Year.
Hoops manager Neil Lennon has been looking for a left-back since Izaguirre broke his ankle last month and made his move for the Moroccan after failing to lure Manchester City's Wayne Bridge to Parkhead.
"Celtic have signed Moroccan internationalist left-back, Badr El Kaddouri, on loan to January," a statement on the club's website read.
"The player joins the club from Dynamo Kiev and Celtic have an option to purchase El Kaddouri at the end of the loan period."
Honduras international Izaguirre was ruled out for between four and six months after suffering the ankle injury during Celtic's victory at Aberdeen on August 7.
