Celtic get Caley first

Celtic will get the chance to wrap up the title in front of their own fans after being handed a home clash with Inverness in their first Clydesdale Bank Premier League post-split fixture.

The defending champions need just a point to wrap up their second successive league crown and will get their chance when they welcome Terry Butcher's side to Celtic Park on Sunday, April 21.

The 12.45pm kick-off is also good news for Hoops boss Neil Lennon, who had pleaded for a home match so his side could get the chance to celebrate their title success with their own support.

Second-placed Motherwell, however, could spoil the Glasgow giants' party if they fail to beat Dundee 24 hours before Celtic's meeting with Caley Thistle.

Celtic will wrap up their season with games against the Fir Park men away on April 28, a trip to Ross County (May 5), another home clash with St Johnstone (May 11) and Dundee United at Tannadice on May 19.

The other big clash in the top six will see Stuart McCall's Motherwell take on Inverness on May 4, at the Caledonian Stadium, with second spot potentially up for grabs. Only three points currently separates the sides.

Butcher's squad will round off their season with a Highland derby clash as they travel to Ross County on May 19.

In the bottom six, Dundee - 13 points behind St Mirren at the foot of the table - could be relegated in Paisley a week on Saturday if they lose to the Buddies.

The last Edinburgh derby of the season is scheduled for May 12, as Hibs travel to Hearts, while the final round of matches in the bottom six will take place on May 18.
