Celtic closing in on Ljungberg deal

Neil Lennon will meet with Freddie Ljungberg's representatives on Thursday morning to hopefully thrash out a deal for the former Arsenal star, who has been training with the Hoops this week. The Swedish legend was at Parkhead on Wednesday night to see Paddy McCourt score the winner against Motherwell to take Celtic one point ahead of Rangers at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League - in a match that also saw skipper Scott Brown get sent off to render himself ineligible for Sunday's Old Firm game at Ibrox. Afterwards the Celtic boss hinted that he is edging closer to securing the services of the 33-year-old midfielder. "The talks will hopefully be on-going today (Thursday)," he said. "We are hoping his representatives are up this morning and we can get something bedded down."
