Burnley in hunt for Fox

Burnley manager Brian Laws has confirmed he is in talks with Celtic's Danny Fox over a move for the Scottish international left-back to Turf Moor.

Fox, 23, only joined Celtic from Coventry in the summer but has indicated to Laws he would relish a move to the Premier League.

Laws said: "He's one of quite a few players that I'm talking to and one thing very evident is that they all want to come here and that's very, very pleasing."

He added: "He's one of many options, and if it's not Fox it will be someone else.

"No deal has been done yet and we have done a lot of talking with a lot of people.

"We can't say one player is the first choice because he might not want to come or we can't do the deal, so you have got to have options A, B and C.

"I'm trying to sign a few more players, I'm hoping to conclude at least a couple more players before the window shuts."

Fox played for England Under-21s before opting to play for Scotland at senior level. Burnley are believed to have offered Celtic £1.8million for a player they paid £1.5million for in the summer.

Meanwhile, Preston have been linked with Burnley's Robbie Blake but Laws said he had had no approaches for the striker.
