Brown to cover for Boruc

Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc will miss the opening weeks of the new season due to a shoulder injury.

The 27-year-old Poland international needs rest to avoid a long lay-off, meaning summer recruit Mark Brown will get an early taste of the action.

Bhoys number two Tommy Burns said: "Artur has got a problem with a joint in his shoulder. He could be out for two or three weeks.

"We will do everything that we can to be fit, but we've got to be careful or we could make it worse.

"Mark's a good lad and he has conducted himself well. If Artur is out then the lads will feel safe with Mark behind them."
