Celtic captain Scott Brown blamed himself and his team-mates for their shock 2-0 Scottish Cup semi-final defeat at the hands of Ross County.
The Bhoys were hot favourites to reach the final, but were undone by their first division opponents at Hampden Park, with interim manager Neil Lennon coming under fire.
However, Brown told the Scottish Daily Express: "It's not the manager's fault. He picks the eleven he thinks is his strongest team for the game and we let him down.
"I hope it doesn't affect his chances of getting the job. His training has been brilliant and we have let him down.
"It was the ones on the park who didn't do their jobs. It's nothing to do with the manager or the coaches. They have done their job well.
"It's about the eleven men on the park and the split-second decisions that are being wrongly made at times."
