Brown: Lennon is the right man

The Northern Irishman moved up from reserve-team coach to take over as interim manager until the end of the season following the departure of Tony Mowbray during the week.[LNB]With Rangers 10 points clear of the Hoops at the top of the SPL and having played two games less, the only realistic chance of silverware for Celtic is the cup where Irn-Bru First Division Ross County bar their way to the final.[LNB]Brown, who was told by Lennon that he will keep his captaincy, said: "There is the Scottish Cup and that is what we are looking forward to now, that is our main aim[LNB]"Hopefully if we do win it, it will get the fans behind us again and it will get Lenny a full-time job as well.[LNB]"I think that's what we are here for, to help him, and he is here to help us as well.[LNB]"The players respect Lenny and look up to him.[LNB]"He has been a leader at this club and captained them to the UEFA Cup final.[LNB]"It is a great place for him to start.[LNB]"There is a lot of pressure with fans, media and things like that and Lenny knows what it's about and will be the right man to deal with it."[LNB]The Scotland midfielder missed the fuss around the sacking of Mowbray yesterday due to a court appearance on a speeding charge, but accepts managerial change is simply part of modern-day football.[LNB]He said: "I wasn't here. I was at court, so I'm not sure (if Mowbray spoke to the players).[LNB]"I think the gaffer was doing not a bad job. He was enjoying it and the lads were enjoying it.[LNB]"But it's not us who make the decisions.[LNB]"Lenny has come in and we have to get on with it.[LNB]"But we have to take a lot (of responsibility) as well.[LNB]"We have let ourselves, the fans and the manager down but it's a fresh start and hopefully we don't do the same thing again."[LNB]Brown returns to the side for the SPL game against Kilmarnock after a three-game ban to face the referee who sent him off in controversial circumstances at Ibrox last month - Dougie McDonald.[LNB]Asked if he might have a problem with that, the former Hibernian midfielder laughed and said: "None whatsoever."[LNB][LNB] Celtic v Kilmarnock.
