Scott Brown has revealed he is "very close" to signing a new deal at Celtic.
The Hoops skipper has a year left on his current deal but expects to extend it after talks with the Glasgow club.
Ahead of Sunday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with St Johnstone at Parkhead, the Scotland midfielder said: "We are getting very close. Hopefully it's just a matter of time, maybe a couple of weeks or so."
He continued: "I hope to sign, yes.
"I want to stay at this club, I enjoy this club.
"The manager wants me to stay and I want to stay for the manager as well.
"Since he came in I have improved as a player and hopefully I can improve even more.
"I want to win the league and cups, that's why I came to this club.
"I have had a taste of it before and I want more."
