Boruc to answer charge
09 Sep 2008 - 11:54:39
Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc has been summoned to appear before a SFA disciplinary commission over gestures he allegedly made to Rangers fans during last month's Old Firm game.
The Poland keeper was reported to have been photographed gesturing to away supporters after conceding the final goal in the 4-2 defeat at Parkhead on August 31.
Boruc was at fault for Daniel Cousin's first-half opener and gifted Kenny Miller his second goal in a below-par display.
Speaking after the Old Firm game, Hoops boss Gordon Strachan admitted he needed to speak to his keeper.
"I will speak to Artur, see how he feels and we will analyse it from there," he admitted.
The news of potential disciplinary trouble caps a turbulent spell in the keeper's career as he was dropped from the Poland squad last month.
He and two team-mates angered coach Leo Beenhakker after breaking a curfew following a friendly against Ukraine and were dropped from subsequent World Cup qualifiers.
