Celtic have won the race to sign the former Hearts defender Steven Pressley.
The 33-year-old Scotland international has signed a deal that will keep him with the runaway SPL leaders until the end of the 2007-08 season.
Pressley had a medical with Premiership strugglers Charlton Athletic on Thursday and held talks with new Addicks manager Alan Pardew, but has opted to sign for Celtic instead.
Bhoys boss Gordon Strachan was keen to sign an experienced defender after Bobo Balde suffered a broken leg in the Boxing Day draw with Dundee United.
It is believed the prospect of European football with Celtic made Pressley's mind up.
