Bhoys loan in keeper Forster

Celtic have signed goalkeeper Fraser Forster on a season-long loan from Newcastle United.

The 22-year-old has yet to feature for the Magpies, but following loan spells with Stockport County and Bristol Rovers, he impressed while with Norwich City last season, helping the Canaries seal promotion back to the Championship.

City boss Paul Lambert is confident that Forster will be able to make a big impression at Parkhead.

He told the Daily Record: "Fraser is young but don't judge him by his age. He has unbelievable ability and if you had seen the job he did for me last season, you'd know that age isn't an issue in this case.

"If you are asking me if I'd have any fears about Fraser being thrown into the Celtic first team, I would say none whatsoever.

"He's definitely ready and able to play at that level."
