Balde wants Bhoys stay

Celtic defender Bobo Balde insists he wants to stay at Parkhead, despite reported interest from Sunderland.

The 31-year-old suffered a nightmare last season after breaking his leg towards the beginning of the campaign and then struggling to reclaim his first-team spot amid fierce competition.

But the Guinea international, who still has two years remaining on his contract with the SPL champions, is adamant he wants to remain with the Bhoys.

"I have made it clear in the past that I am very happy at Celtic and I am not interested in anything else," he told the Daily Record.

"I love the club, I am very settled in Glasgow and I would be happy to fulfil my current contract.

"As far as I am concerned nobody has spoken to me about a move anywhere. I just want to be fit and ready for the start of the new season.

"Last season was one to forget and I want to get back to my best."
