All nip and tuck now

Each game sees the possibility of changes at the top with both sides of the Old Firm dropping points. Daryl Murphy wants Celtic to take the opportunity to go top of the SPL against Hamilton on Saturday while Rangers are left kicking their heels due to frozen and burst pipes. This would allow them to head to Ibrox on 2 January as league leaders. Rangers could have gone five points clear at the top of the table if they had managed to secure a win at Inverness but could only draw 1-1 against the Highlanders, leaving them just three points ahead. If all goes according to plan, Celtic can leapfrog into the top spot with a win at New Douglas Park, courtesy of their superior goal difference. Murphy is hoping the Parkhead men, who have also dropped points in their last two games, against Dundee United and Inverness, can take advantage of the potential turnaround. The Irishman said: "We are thankful that the result (at Inverness) went our way, it wouldn't have been nice to have been that far behind. The Hamilton game is a massive incentive for us. Any team going into a game knowing that if you win you will go top - well, you can't ask for any more than that. However, we just have to win our games and not worry about other teams."
