Sierra Leone international Bangura rejoined former club AIK in August after struggling for form with Celtic last season. His spell with the Swedish side is set to come to an end in December but, having impressed over the past couple of months, there have been suggestions the arrangement could be made permanent.
"Mohamed has a great history with our club," AIK sporting director, Bjorn Wesstrom said in the Daily Record.
"He is performing well so in the near future we will have a discussion with Celtic to see what their plans are for him.
"He's a Celtic player and they have a mandate to do as they wish. But we'll speak to them and will know how to proceed when we have done that.
"Finances would be an issue. We are not even close to the same level as Celtic but we will see the outcome."
