Catania show faith in Atzori

Catania coach Gianluca Atzori has won a vote of confidence even though his side has slipped into the relegation zone.

The club's chief executive Pietro Lo Monaco insists Atzori won't be axed even though recent reports claimed the Sicilian club were in talks with former Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

Lo Monaco told Radio Kiss Kiss: "We will continue with Atzori. We will always support him.

"We are in an ugly moment and that's obvious, but we have been playing well, and no team has really thrashed us in the 11 games we have played.

"Even when we played against Fiorentina, you could see signs that made one think we could have won."

Catania lost 3-1 to La Viola at the weekend and have won only one of 11 Serie A games so far this term.
