Capello blasted for comments

England national team manager Fabio Capello has been criticised for suggesting Italian clubs are run by ultras following his comments on Calcio at Coverciano on Monday.

The former AS Roma and AC Milan boss also claimed that there is more of a family feel at stadiums in England and Spain.

Speaking on the state of Serie A, he said: "The ultras do what they want. In the stadium they insult everyone."

However, Catania chief executive Pietro Lo Monaco has dismissed Capello's comments.

Speaking to the press in the aftermath of Capello's tirade, he said: "Clubs run by the ultras? It's certainly not like this at Catania.

"We have our projects and we have been carrying them forward. We respect our fans, but we do not let them influence us.

"The choices made by the club are as such, there are no outside interferences."
