Carshalton travelled to the west coast side still looking for the 1st win of the season against a team who had conceded 15 goals in 3 games. Carshalton welcomed back Matt York into the starting line-up after he signed from AFC Wimbledon.
The Seagulls started much brighter and had a couple of early chances. Carshaltons first attack came from a good 3 man move involving Marlon Patterson, Richard Hodgson and Luke Fontana which ended with Lukes good cross through the 6 yard area not being met by a Robins Player.
After Westons good start The Robins got themselves back into the game and were creating a few chances without really testing the home keeper. Marc Simms ran down the wing and put in a good cross for Craig Dundas but the keeper just beat him to the ball. The next chance came from a Richard Hodgson free-kick which found Dundas but he headed the chance wide. Matt York had one of his famous long-range shots but the keeper easily gathered. Weston did take the lead on 32 minutes after the defence gave away a silly free-kick. Scott Walker took the free-kick and he found the dangerous Jon French unmarked and he sent the ball home. Carshalton had a great chance from a Patterson corner but Marc Simms headed just wide.
The second half started at a slower pace, and after a quiet opening 10 minutes Weston had the first proper chance of the half after good work on the right from Jon French he made a good pass to Scott Walker but his weak shot was easily gathered up by Stuart Searle. Craig Dundas missed another good chance for the Robins when he shot at the keeper when well placed.
Carshalton made a change and brought on Carl Wilson-Denis for Luke Fontana. Craig Dundas header from a good cross by Marlon Patterson was weak and didnt bother the keeper. Carshalton had a very good claim for a penalty turned down after Dundas was brought down in the penalty box, but the referee waved the claim away. This ended a good spell in the game from the Robins. Carshalton were creating the chances but the lack of finishing had cost them dearly.
The Seagulls got themselves back into the game. Mark McKeever put over a very good cross which met the unmarked French but he headed wide. Craig Dundas crossed to Carl Wilson-Denis but he shot directly at the keeper. Matt York got on the end of a cross by Craig Dundas but his powerful drive went whistling over the bar. The Final blow for the Robins came just minutes before the end when Scott Walkers powerful drive from about 20 yards out left Searle standing, to send The few Robins supporters disappointed again.
