Wanderers and Carlisle draw blank

Wycombe could have gone ahead after 13 minutes when Jon-Paul Pittman was put through by a good ball from John Mousinho, but his effort was saved by Cumbrians keeper Adam Collin. Adam Clayton went close for United 10 minutes later as he picked up the ball in a good position on the left of the area but his powerful strike found the side netting. Ian Harte's curling free-kick just after the half-hour mark looked to finally have Chairboys keeper Tom Heaton beaten but it flew narrowly past the right-hand upright. Shortly before the break the home side came close to a breakthrough when Matt Harrold connected with Dean Keates' corner but Collin saved well and Mousinho's follow-up header dropped just wide. Substitute Stuart Beavon surged forward late on and laid the ball into the path of a well-placed Mousinho but he could only blaze wide to ensure the match finished goalless.
