Taiwo signing excites Abbott

Chelsea teenager Tom Taiwo has joined Carlisle United on a two-and-a-half year deal.

The 19-year-old has spent the first half of the season on loan at Brunton Park, featuring in 28 matches for Greg Abbott's side.

Abbott told the News & Star: "Tom's exactly the type of player that we want at this club.

"We've seen from the games that he's played that he's committed and always gives 100 per cent and he's thoroughly enjoyed his time with us.

"We're now looking forward to working with him and watching him improve even further, because we think he has a heck of a lot still to give."
