Tottenham Hotspur have made their interest known in Heurelho Gomes, according to the goalkeeper's current club PSV Eindhoven.
Spurs coach Juande Ramos is known to be keen to bring a new goalkeeper to White Hart Lane after dropping regular number one and England international Paul Robinson at times last season.
Ramos has also allowed former number two Radek Cerny to join QPR this summer, which leaves just youngster Ben Alnwick on the books.
The 27-year-old Brazil international could cost the north London club around £9million.
"Tottenham have informed us of their interest," said PSV's managing director Jan Reker.
Gomes joined the Dutch club in 2004 from Cruzeiro and is renowned for his shot-stopping ability.
The 6ft 4in keeper caught the eye of Ramos after starring during PSV's UEFA Cup second knockout round success over Spurs on penalties in March.
