Carlisle United expect to be without leading scorer Karl Hawley for around six weeks due to an ankle injury.
The 25-year-old striker does not require surgery to cure the problem, after scans confirmed the scale of the problem.
Cumbrians physio Neil Dalton told the club's official website: "Upon looking at the scans and assessing Karl's ankle, the surgeon has decided that he doesn't need an operation, which is good news.
"The surgeon will check him over again in about four weeks' time to make sure everything is healing as it should be.
"I expect him to be out for about six weeks."
