Pericard rejects Abbott's offer

Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott has no hard feelings after former Stoke City striker Vincent Pericard rejected a contract offer from the club.

The 27-year-old moved to Brunton Park in October and was a revelation during his time with the club, finding the net six times in 16 matches.

Abbott confirmed to the News & Star: "He's turned down our offer as he wants to try his luck elsewhere.

"He came in and did a great job for us, but he decided that he wanted to keep his options open when we initially started to talk to him.

"We made what we thought was a great offer and the club's done everything that it can to keep him here beyond the end of the current deal.

"However, he's made his decision and all we can do now is move on. He's a fantastic lad and we wish him all the very best."
