No Thirlwell appeal

Carlisle United boss Neil McDonald has had a change of heart and decided not to appeal against Paul Thirlwell's red card in the victory at Tranmere Rovers.
Thirlwell was dismissed for his challenge on Tranmere substitute Calvin Zola and will now miss the League One games against Port Vale, Bournemouth and Rotherham United.
"I've spoken to a member of the Referees' Association and he said it would be very unlikely that it would be overturned," McDonald told the News & Star.
"It's all to do with the wording and the referee has used the word 'intent' when he talks about Paul's challenge.
"I've looked at it on the video and he does go in very strongly, more with his upper body rather than his legs. The referee has deemed that as intent to injure.
"I don't want to waste the club's money by appealing when it's very unlikely to be overturned and the referee can't change his mind."
