McDaid sidelined for season

Carlisle defender Sean McDaid has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery.The 24-year-old, who has made 14 appearances for the Cumbrians this term, felt the injury during last week's clash with Exeter before being examined by a surgeon on Monday.Manager Greg Abbot told the club's official website: "Sean has been fantastic for us this season and he will be a huge miss both on and off the pitch."Meanwhile, teenage striker Ryan Bowman has joined Workington on a month's loan.
