Midfielder Marc Bridge-Wilkinson has signed for Carlisle United for the second time after agreeing a two-year deal at Brunton Park.
The 28-year-old former Derby County and Port Vale man was released by Bradford City last month but has been snapped up by the Cumbrians.
Bridge-Wilkinson spent a month on loan at Carlisle during the 1998-99 season which ended in dramatic circumstances when goalkeeper Jimmy Glass scored the late goal which kept the club in the Football League.
"I know a bit about the club because I came up here on loan," he told the club's official website.
"The club was struggling a bit at the time, at the bottom of the third division as it was then. It all ended with Jimmy Glass scoring that infamous goal.
"One of my main reasons for coming here is that it is a team that likes to play football.
"I know that the manager likes to do things that way, and that's the type of player that I am. I can see myself fitting in really easily to that."
