Madine plays despite police probe

The striker, who came off the bench for the final 25 minutes of Tuesday's 1-0 win over Yeovil after a one-month loan spell at Saltergate, was arrested for an alleged assault last month and released on bail pending further enquiries until April 11. Abbott told the club's official website: "He's going to be allowed to play his football and we will deal with the other matter again when it comes along. "I've got a job to do, and so has he, and to be fair I think he won a few of the fans back (against Yeovil)." Meanwhile, Carlisle pair Danny Livesey and Ben Marshall both sustained injury against Yeovil. Marshall could be fit for the weekend despite being forced off with a calf problem, while Livesey came off 17 minutes from the end due to a hamstring injury and is awaiting scan results.
