Liddle extends Carlisle loan

Michael Liddle's loan stay at Carlisle United has been extended until the end of the season by parent club Sunderland.

The left-back was due to leave the Cumbrians on February 14.

However, Carlisle boss Greg Abbott has thrashed out a deal that will keep Liddle at the club until the end of the campaign.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international recently signed a new deal at the Stadium of Light and remains part of Black Cats boss Ricky Sbragia's plans.

Liddle has made 14 appearances for the Brunton Park club so far this season.
