Kavanagh agrees loan stay
17 Dec 2008 - 14:59:02
Sunderland midfielder Graham Kavanagh has agreed to extend his loan stay with Carlisle United.
The 35-year-old former Stoke City and Wigan Athletic star has scored three goals in 15 appearances for United since moving to Brunton Park in October.
He will remain with the League One side until January 3, with boss Greg Abbott telling the club's official website: "He does a great job for us, and he's starting to come into his own now that we're enjoying some better results.
"It was frustrating for everyone when we were losing, and Graham is a winner, so he was feeling that just like the rest of us.
"He has a big contract with Sunderland, so we'll have to see what they want to do with that when we get in to January.
"We can maybe discuss keeping him until the end of the season, but that's not for now. We'd need to speak to Sunderland again and see if there's anything that we'd want to do about that."
