Carlisle United wideman Simon Hackney is looking forward to pre-season training at Brunton Park after overcoming a serious knee injury.
The 23-year-old has not played since the turn of the year, but is nearing full fitness after surgery.
He told the News & Star: "I'm thrilled to bits I'll be available for pre-season as that's what I've been working hard for.
"I feel great and I feel fit and I'm really excited for the new season to start. At the moment I'm getting ready for pre-season and my rehab has been very positive.
"The cartilage had broken off my knee joint and was causing my knee to lock, so I needed an operation to get rid of the cartilage.
"The rehab has been a slow process, but I always knew I would get to this point."
