Cumbrians wait on Garner

Carlisle United face an anxious wait to discover the extent of an injury picked up by Joe Garner during Tuesday's 1-0 victory at Crewe Alexandra. The 14-goal top-scorer was replaced at half-time at Gresty Road after twisting his knee and is a doubt for next Monday's promotion showdown with Nottingham Forest. "We're sending him for the scan so that we can find out as early as possible if there is anything that we need to worry about," manager John Ward told the club's official website. "We won't try and second guess it and I'll wait to see what the results are before we start to decide whether he is in contention for the game on Monday or not. "Like I say, we'll know more and be able to comment more once the results come back."
