Cumbrians move for Keogh

Carlisle United landed Richard Keogh on loan from Bristol City ahead of Thursday's loan deadline.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international recently returned to the Championship club after spending two months on loan at Huddersfield Town.

But the 21-year-old defender has now joined the Cumbrians on loan until January 1.

"I wasn't really playing at Bristol, so I couldn't wait to get up here," he told the club's official website.

"Obviously, getting in to the side will be tough because the lads have been doing really well.

"It'll be hard, but I see it as a boost for myself, a better chance to play football than perhaps I was going to get in Bristol, so I'm going to get my head down and work as hard as I can.

"If I get my chance then I want to prove to everyone that the gaffer was right to bring me here."
