Cumbrians keep Holmes

Carlisle United boss Paul Simpson has rejected an approach from SPL club Livingston for striker Derek Holmes.

The 27-year-old had been linked with a return to Scotland, but Simpson insists that no deal will be done at the moment.

He told the club's official website: "We have had an enquiry from Livingston, but it isn't enough of an enquiry for us to allow Derek to go.

"He is part of the squad and part of what we are doing here at the club, so we have told them that he is not available.

"We are not in a position where we have to let players go and we have let Livingston know that."
