Carlisle hand trial to midfielder

Carlisle United are assessing Sunderland midfielder Jamie Chandler during a trial at Brunton Park.The 21-year-old joined the Cumbrians' training session on Wednesday and is set to link up with Greg Abbott's side again during the coming weeks. Sunderland have told the England under-19 player he will not be offered a new contract at the Stadium of Light when his deal ends in the summer.
