Abbott: Taylor not leaving
05 Aug 2009 - 14:35:33
Beleaguered Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott has insisted that want-away winger Cleveland Taylor will not be leaving to join rivals Brentford, who they face on the opening day of the season.
The Leicester-born player joined the Cumbrians from Scunthorpe United for £65,000 in January 2008.
Speaking to the the News & Star, Abbott said: "At the minute, nobody is leaving this club until I bring somebody in and that includes Cleveland."
Abbott has been frustrated through the summer as he looked to bring a striker into the club after Danny Graham left to join Watford and Michael Bridges' loan spell from Hull City had expired.
He failed with his recent chase for Sunderland youngster Martyn Waghorn and former United striker Karl Hawley refused his approach to sign for Sven Goran-Eriksson's Notts County.
