We can live without loanees - Abbott

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott has urged his players to put the loss of key loan players behind them as the Cumbrians bid to climb back up the table. Defender James Chester, who arrived from Manchester United and has completed a permanent move to Hull, and Leeds pair Lubo Michalik and Mike Grella, who have returned to their parent club, are the latest players to depart Brunton Park after successful loan spells. Abbott told the News & Star: "Losing those players has been a blow, but the players can look at it positively or negatively. If I was a player and saw them leaving, I would see it as a chance for me and others should be doing the same." He added: "We've got a couple of players in this week and that will give the squad a bit of a boost. "The players have given us a really good half of the season and now there are question marks over them for the first time. Let's see if they can answer them. I'm certainly up for the fight and I hope they are as well."
