Thirlwell missing for Cumbrians

Carlisle will be without injured skipper Paul Thirlwell for the home clash with Brighton. The midfielder strained knee ligaments in last week's win at Sheffield Wednesday and will be sidelined for up to four weeks. Manager Greg Abbott has several options available to him as he looks to re-jig his midfield, with player-coach Graham Kavanagh, Ben Marshall and Matty Robson all ready to step up to fill the void. Abbott has no other new injury worries, but Marc Bridge-Wilkinson is still struggling with an ankle problem, fellow midfielder Kevan Hurst (back) is not ready for first-team action and Danny Livesey (groin) has targeted a return to full training next month. Abbott's side, unbeaten at home in the league this season, could leapfrog Peterborough into top spot with victory.
