Thirlwell back in Carlisle contention

Thirlwell, a late substitute on Saturday, is a likely straight swap for Tom Taiwo, who sits out a one-game ban after his dismissal for two yellow card offences in the win over Colchester.

Cumbrians manager Greg Abbott is not expected to make any other changes after Saturday's impressive fightback, with latest signing Jason Price, on loan from Millwall, expected to retain his place up front after his goalscoring debut against Colchester.

Kevan Hurst is nursing a jarred knee, while Ben Marshall is pushing for a recall after stepping off the bench to fire the equaliser in Saturday's 2-1 victory.

Fellow strikers Scott Dobie and Darryl Duffy (both groin) and Joe Anyinsah (double hernia) remain sidelined, as do long-term absentees David Raven (hip) and Andy Cook (foot).
