Simek focused on league

Carlisle skipper Frank Simek has put Wembley on the backburner as he switched his attentions to Saturday's home clash with Southampton. The Cumbrians, beaten finalists in last season's Johnstone's Paint Trophy final, booked their place in the Northern Section semi-finals with victory over Crewe this week, but Simek is looking only as far as this weekend's clash against their in-form promotion rivals. Simek said: "We're not even thinking about Wembley yet. Of course it would be fantastic for the club to go there again, but the focus is entirely on the next game and we've got a really tough one this Saturday. "If we perform to the standards we are capable of then there's every chances we can get another win from that match." The American full-back was also full of praise for defensive partner Peter Murphy, whose double helped Carlisle to a 3-1 win over Crewe. Simek added: "Murph's in great form at the moment and he's also offering us a good threat on set-pieces at the other end of the pitch. He's ghosted in well for both of his goals and he wasn't too far off getting his hat-trick as well."
