Robson sombre after stunner

Matty Robson's wonder strike in the weekend defeat at Exeter was only small consolation for the Carlisle winger. Robson, who scooped the Cumbrians' goal of the season award last term, thundered home a 30-yard free-kick midway through the second half at St James' Park, but Carlisle went down 2-1 for their third league defeat of the season. Robson said of his blockbuster: "I've had time to practice and it does give the keeper something different to think about. "It's one where you hit it and hope that it goes in and fortunately that's what happened. "The result is the important thing though, not who scores the goals, and that's why there wasn't much celebration. "Everyone was gutted in the dressing room because we didn't feel we made them work hard enough. What we have to do is move on and make sure that we put it right next week (against Charlton)."
