Carlisle winger Matty Robson has signed a new two-year contract that keeps him at the club until the summer of 2013. Robson, 26, converted to left-back this season, signed his new deal after Saturday's home defeat to Yeovil having held various talks with manager Greg Abbott over the last two weeks. Abbott said: "Matty has a fantastic attitude and is a great lad to have in and around the squad. He gives us real options on the left-hand side and has shown us he can be used in a variety of roles and positions. "The left-back area is something that we've explored with him and it's a job that he's really grown into. We've also been able to push him forward when we've needed a more attacking edge to our play, and it's always good to have a player who can bring things to the mix. "We're delighted that he'll be staying and that we'll be able to continue to work with him." Robson has made over 100 appearances for the Cumbrians having joined from Hartlepool in June 2009.
