Robson eyeing first start

Carlisle's Matty Robson is hoping to make his first start of the season at former club Hartlepool. The Cumbrians winger has made seven appearances from the substitutes' bench this term, but an impressive second-half display in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth has put him in contention. Midfielder Marc Bridge-Wilkinson missed out at the weekend with an ankle injury and remains doubtful, while captain Paul Thirlwell (knee ligaments) and defender Danny Livesy (groin) remain sidelined. Ben Marshall is another player hoping to force his way into the starting line-up after four substitute appearances following his summer switch from Stoke, leaving manager Greg Abbott with plenty to ponder as his side bids to bounce back from their first league defeat of the season at Bournemouth.
