Murphy wants first-team football

Murphy has been dropped from roles in defence and midfield by boss Greg Abbott this season and was the subject of a loan bid from Shrewsbury in November.[LNB]United's longest-serving player told the News & Star: "You can understand being dropped if you haven't played well, but when I came into the midfield for the FA Cup game against Norwich, we won comfortably against a top-three side in this division, so getting dropped for the Hartlepool game after that was quite hard to take.[LNB]"And not to play at Everton in the third round was tough as well, because I had played in the previous three-and-a-half games, the results had been good, and everybody wants to play against Premier League opposition.[LNB]"So that was annoying and frustrating. But it's only a football game. There are a lot more important things out there. All you can do is knuckle down, try and keep yourself fit and be ready if you are called upon. And if the manager isn't going to pick you, there's not much more you can do about it.[LNB]"I can say here and now that I am very happy at Carlisle, but I am not happy when I am not playing. You can read into that what you like."[LNB][LNB]
