Murphy made up after bringing up 400

Carlisle defender Peter Murphy has spoken of his gratitude after making his 400th appearance for the club in midweek. Murphy, 30, joined the Cumbrians on a free transfer from Blackburn in August 2001 and made his debut three days later as a second-half substitute in a 2-0 home defeat to Luton. Murphy said: "I really do just appreciate every game that I'm involved in because you see players missing out through injury and all kinds. That would be frustrating, so I'm happy that I'm involved. "I think this is the kind of thing that I will look back at after my career is over and I'll feel really proud about it." The Dublin-born centre-half added: "It's been fantastic, and I just hope that there are many more to come. "There's real competition for places at the moment, so it's not cut and dried, and all you can do is keep playing well and hope that you keep your place in the team."
