Lowe puts Dons on a high

Ryan Lowe scored his first goal for MK Dons as they secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Carlisle.

Luke Chadwick's first-half curler and ex-Sheffield Wednesday striker Lowe's late tap-in handed the Dons their first win in three league games.

Karl Robinson's side dominated the first half and Chadwick put his team ahead after 12 minutes, curling Daniel Powell's lay-off past goalkeeper Adam Collin from the edge of the box.

Chadwick then headed inches wide before Collin produced good saves to deny Powell, Stephen Gleeson and Lowe - who also had a goal disallowed for offside.

Carlisle rarely threatened before the break but Matty Robson had a fierce 18-yard drive deflected narrowly over the crossbar.

The Cumbrians upped their game after the interval but Lowe put the Dons 2-0 ahead on the counter-attack after 65 minutes, slotting in the rebound after Powell's shot had been saved by Collin.

Carlisle rallied late on but Danny Cadamarteri's low effort from the angle was tipped wide by keeper David Martin and the Dons ran out worthy winners.
