Carlisle manager Greg Abbott is confident teenage striker Ben Marshall can keep improving after extending his loan spell with the Cumbrians. Marshall, 19, will stay at Brunton Park for the rest of the season after Carlisle reached agreement with parent club Stoke and Abbott is delighted to keep him. Abbott said: "He's really settled into it again over the last few weeks and is showing everyone what a good player he is. "Stoke are really pleased with the way things are going for their player and are happy for him to stay, and we're obviously delighted that we can keep him here. "Hopefully we'll see Ben continue to progress as he stays with us for the remainder of this season."
