Marshall may make Carlisle return

Carlisle boss Gregg Abbott has not given up hope that Ben Marshall could play for the club again. The on-loan Stoke winger suffered ankle ligament damage during Sunday`s Johnstone`s Paint Trophy Final win over Brentford and is likely to miss the rest of the season. However, Abbott has revealed he will look into the possibility of bringing Marshall back to Brunton Park in the future. He told the Carlisle News and Star: "I would think it would be very difficult but it's not something we are going to let go easily. "We are going to try our best and throw everything we've got at it to try and make it happen. "It depends on the interest in him and what Stoke want to do. I'll be speaking to Tony [Pulis] in the next week to see what his plans are."
