Livesey: Abbott was going nowhere

United arrested a run of seven games without a win with a 2-1 triumph over Southend last weekend, providing Abbott with a timely boost.[LNB]But Livesey, who is leading the Cumbrians in the absence of the injured Paul Thirlwell, never paid any attention to the talk about Abbott's future at Brunton Park.[LNB]"You hear grumblings but there was never any suggestion that he was going to go anywhere," he said.[LNB]"All we could do was to go out and quieten down the doubters, which is what we did against Southend last weekend.[LNB]"That win and a positive result against Charlton on Saturday leaves us in a position where it is all forgotten anyway."[LNB][LNB]
